NEA Stimulus Grants Released & MCACA Stimulus Release Meeting

NEA Stimulus Grants Released
Yesterday, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced their direct grants as part of the $50 million federal economic stimulus recovery package. The NEA will distribute nearly $30 million to 631 nonprofit arts groups nationwide. These grants are in addition to the $20 million that was already passed on to the 63 state and regional arts agencies.

Congratulations to the ten Michigan NEA American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grantees:

  5. Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival - Kalamazoo, MI
  6. Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra - Kalamazoo, MI
  7. Kerrytown Concert House, Inc. - Ann Arbor, MI
  8. Michigan State University - East Lansing, MI
  9. Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit - Detroit, MI
  10. University of Detroit Mercy - Detroit, MI

MCACA Stimulus Grants
There will be a meeting this Friday to announce the grantees for those organizations that applied for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The meeting will be held in Lansing at 1:30pm at the Michigan Historical Center.
